I'm late to the party known as Reiki, but not as late as one of my friends, whom when I said, "I'm into Reiki, she said, 'Isn't that on Hawthorne?'"

No. It's not on Hawthorne. It's not a martial arts studio. It's not a restaurant. It's a healing art.

Healing.

Art.

Love how those two words come together.

And so it is that I am being trained in Reiki, an ancient, Japanese form of laying on of hands.

It's probably only a matter of time until I start speaking in tongues (which, if you ask me, is just what channeling is).

And I am INTO it. Watch out, dear readers, that means you'll be hearing about it ad nauseum! The part that most excites me is DISTANCE HEALING. Next time we learn how to do that.

So, all this serves as a warning, if you start to spontaneously heal, you know whom to thank.

Just doin' my job, just doin' my job.

I like Reiki, I tried it last summer. I found it very helpful. It took me a long time to find a Reiki therapist around here. One guy was a complete dud, almost made me want to give up, but I heard such good things about it. I'm glad I was persistent! The book store I told you about (seven rays) was helpful. I think you would be WONDERFUL at it.

I have to say, living in the Bible Belt, in the deep south, for those years, speaking in tounges, at least at the church where my boy friend went WAS NOT like channeling, at all. The first time, I was so excited, I came home and tried telling my dad what I witnessed and he said, "let me guess what he said, he said....." and it was exactly right. Which lead me to believe, it wasn't real at all, just the standard thing. At least at that church. I was a bit crushed.

Reiki is awesome and a highly effective form of healing. At the very least people are more relaxed and feeling better and that sure can't hurt! Congratulations and I hope you enjoy the work as much as I have.
