Y.E.S. That is so right on - i have goose bumps. grief is at the root of so many of our emotions. just layered and layered under so much ... like decades of folding rocks
I've been trying to replace OMG in my vocabulary with "Good grief!" just to get to the point of accepting that grief is a necessary emotion. Or even to acknowledge that it is always buried there.
Waiting for your posting on where we go between compassion and anger. I seem to be in that place more often these days. Get vulnerable, get stepped on, and then....ahem...respond. Compelling thought, Carrie. Good thought-provoking work. EFH
It's true, there is so much grief buried in me; if you peeled my heart like an onion, you would just keep finding layer upon layer of it. Oftentimes, the reality that my Max is doing so much better than the doctors said he would keeps me sunny. But on bad days, on days when he is struggling or I am, the grief rises. And it is there, and it is so strong.

Hmm, I've heard 'don't swing from anger to compassion without stopping at the bar, but yours is good too.
Yes.
Oh, grief. Ever present.

Hmmm, oh wow! Yes. So much healing happens in grief.
But I like what Jess said. LOL!
:)
Good advice. My problem is not getting stuck in the grief!
Perfect. Really. Thank you for these wise words, so incredibly meaningful for many of us.
WOW.
Hmmm. Lots to think about here.
Baseball rules for life? I often yearn to make it to home plate, but really need a spell in the dugout, Coach. :)
Our emotions are so much more complex than we give ourselves credit for. We use 8 crayon colors and we really need a box of 256.

And then I repress it all over again.
