"What are reborn are our habits.
Enlightenment is the ending of rebirth,
which means a complete nonattachment
or misidentification with all thoughts, feelings,
perceptions, physical sensations, and ideas."
H. H. The Dalai Lama

Sometimes I think my life is straight out of "Groundhog Day," the same stuff coming up over and over and over again, almost, almost comically so. What I'm working on now is the whole idea of nonattachment. I say to myself, when triggered (1,000 x/day), "Detach." And about 1 out of 1,000 times it actually works.

I might go for twice today. God knows there will be plenty of opportunity.

Perhaps the word isn't working for you. Perhaps the command keeps you in your brain and then self-judgments follow when it doesn't work. Perhaps another approach when triggered would be to tell yourself to breathe. Conscious breathing pulls you back into the center and as you focus on the breath, you already begin to detach by virtue of the fact you're re-focusing your attention inward.

Go easy with it, girl. Easy.

Sounds like you need some more space.

I don't think I can offer anything more profound than Go Mama's response. I was just going to say I'm glad I'm in good company - I can so relate to your words. :-)

I'm back at home, Katie's back at home, I'm going to see a divorce lawyer, again, obviously didn't get it right the first time:)

I'm just hoping this time I get it right.

I find that in order to detach, having a healthy attachment first really helps.

I know. Those same lessons over and over again, they can be annoying little pests. Good thing I don't carry a fly swatter in my pocket!

Love you.
