PLENTY
Rojo's praising of the Lord is so loud it wakes me up. "Table of plenty, table of plenty, come to the table of plenty" he sings. And sings. And sings. And plays on his electronic keyboard. And piano. And drums. And recorder. And harmonica. And every window of the house. And door. And kicks to the beat against the breakfast bar.
STM says, "Look at his joy. Such joy. We are so blessed. How long do you think it would take a stranger to become annoyed," he asks, "two days? Eight hours? What do you think?"
"Fifteen minutes," I say.
I finally extricate myself from the madness and turn on my computer - ready to put on the big, over the ears headphones and escape into my happy place. Dictionary.com has e-mailed me with today's word. Oh, goody, my word for the day! Yea! I love this! I always feel so smug when I know the word and happy to learn a new one when I don't. But today? A little too close to home.
Word of the Day for Tuesday, November 17, 2009

No accidents
I like to sing it. Care to join me? To the tune of 'antici-pay-ay-shun is makin' me wait ...'
perseverayayshun is makin' me crazy ...
Cmon, everybody now .,.
Coincidences like that always blow my mind.
um...do I have to say it?...no accidents...
Look at it this way, now you have a word to describe Rojo's uncontainable joy.
LOL!
I had the same flippin let down this morning as I launched my email preparing to work "early" just after getting a text from Foster's aide complaining that Foster can't stop whistling in school. I was ready to unfriend Word of the Day.
I subscribe to Dictionary.com, too!
This. Is. Priceless.
Love.
I'm singing along with Jess Wilson.
!!!
Sounds like God came to the table and brought along His sense of humor!!
Better perseveration than doing crack, I always say.
Not sure whether to laugh or cry. :-)
Just a nickel word for "earworm." Which I love.
PS I know this doesn't help, but it could be worse. One of my wee students latched on to "Clifford the Big Red Dog" as his echolalia words of choice...for two + years. I'd rather the joyful noise. :) Huggage
MmmmHmmm... Cowinkiedink? Nope.
:)
If only we could train our own grown-up selves to perseverate on joy.
No way! Crap! I hope you went for the headphones after that!
