A BRICK TO THE HEAD
So, last night I had two telling dreams. In the first one it suddenly dawned on me that I had a five-day-old newborn I'd completely forgotten about since it's birth. I'd done zero for this child. Hadn't fed it. Hadn't changed its diaper. Hadn't held it. Hadn't done jack %$#@. I think it was a girl (what are the chances?). When I finally remembered her she was totally fine and took to eating like a champ. She ate and ate and ate and could not get her fill.
I went straight from that dream to one where a surly teenage girl was staying at my house and I couldn't control her behavior, so I took her cell phone and locked her in her room. Didn't like her attitude. Didn't like the mouth on her. Didn't like her.
Where, oh where should I start with the part-of-me exercise?

Maybe not the part-of-me, but the spirit exercise you learned from the priest. Someone sure is wanting you to know something!
Part of you is 100% perfect. Part of you is doing fine. Listen to that part. Always.
very interesting dreams! Full of symbolism.
Nobody can give you wiser advice than yourself.

Ditto Michelle. You're not starting from ground zero.
love.
Supposedly, both the baby and the teen are parts of yourself. You ignored the baby and didn't let the teen communicate. What does the baby need? What part of you is new, being birthed? What part of you are you not listening to?
Wow - interesting - I say count your blessings that you are at least getting some insight....
Oh, my. Glad you found and fed the baby. Just because you don't like the teen or her attitude doesn't mean you are wrong. Sometimes teens need...manners.
Can't wait to hear where this goes for you.
This could totally be my dream. LOL Mostly about having a girl, and that I have forgotten to take care of her--hard enough to take care of the three I have! *sigh*
Good luck!

I have SO had the baby dream!!
:)
Sounds like some balance is in order, my dear.
Methinks it's time to focus more on taking care of yourself.
Love.
Wow - your dreams have so much "story" to them - does that make sense? Dreams have always fascinated me.
I'm with Deb. What if you stayed with each of those feelings as long as you can and then see where you end up?
Here's what I see from out here in the cheap seats--you worried about not doing enough for the baby, but the baby was just fine in the end. You didn't like the teenager but you took appropriate action.
Slowly, slowly, Sister.
