I'm Dead Serious...
I think I've found the solution to all my problems. I'm going to commit some kind of crime that automatically puts me straight into solitary confinement. How bad could that be? Three squares a day provided by Uncle Sam? S O L I T A R Y. Bring it on! How is that different from serious Buddhist monks that go off, alone, and contemplate for months/years on end? The only wrinkle is I'm really not that much of a criminal, so, I'm taking suggestions. I draw the line at murder, but maybe a nice little bank robbery? Would I have to be armed? Would I have to scare people? Don't want to do that. Could I just walk myself down to the police station and confess to a crime I didn't commit? What's a mother/wife/daughter/aunt/sister/friend/
volunteer/employee gotta do these days to get a little time alone?

I understand! But you don't need to go to jail. Your children need to visit Grandma.

Hmm....now you're talking. Are you flexible at all with murder? Cuz I got a couple of people... uh...nevermind.

How do you spell
B-O-U-N-D-A-R-I-E-S?? Can't live without 'em, so hard to set, less messy than taking a few people out!

I'm thinking you might be eligible to enroll in a sleep study. You know, one of those ones where you're monitored for several days to "diagnose" your sleep problems. It will probably turn out that your only difficulty involves your housemates, but at least you will have gotten a few days of sleep before the doctors figure that out ;-)

I'm thinking that a certain Colorado writer's retreat might be in order for you right about now. You know, the one that just switched owners. You could break it in and make sure everything's working.

The only crime would be you not taking the time away.

Someone told me recently that the three most important things to be able to say are: 1) I don't know; 2) I was wrong; 3) I need help.

Have you practiced that third one lately? Could be you need help committing some crime or another. Could also be you need help with the boatload of responsibilities in your life.

Either way, you get a littlel relief. Only you know for sure which one might be best at this moment.

You are signing my song! One thing that works is getting sick! When I was sick for 7 days my hubby was forced to do EVERYTHING! I was really sick so it wasn't that fun...but who says you have to be really sick? :) Another option that I do all the time...go to a local hotel!
They will be fine without you for a couple of days!
